The instructional day begins at 7:40 a.m. with the ringing of the warning bell. Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Students are expected to be in seats ready to engage in the instructional program by that time. (It is recommended that students arrive to their classrooms 5 minutes prior to the start of the instructional day, so that they can prepare themselves for class.) A student who does not meet this expectation is considered tardy and may be detained in the office until parent notification has been made. Tardies to classes during the school day are also unacceptable, and those tardies will count against a student’s cumulative absences.
